‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’ New Trailer Released, ‘Venom’ and ‘Sinister Six’ Movie Announced

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is perhaps one of the most highly anticipated new films of 2014. The new year promises to be a big one for everyone’s favorite web-slinger. Spidey is facing off against so many villains this time around, it is almost like they need their own movies. That is exactly what they will be getting now that it has been announced that a Venom movie and a Sinister Six spin-off are in the works. Meanwhile, Spider-Man kicked off the new year last night with the release of a brand new trailer.

It is shaping up to be a good year for your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. The wall-crawler helped ring in the New Year last night with the premiere of a brand new trailer. The new clip was introduced by none other than Spider-Man creator and overall comic icon, Stan “The Man” Lee. However, the clip, sadly, didn't live up to all the excitement.

The highly hyped clip, complete with "Ball-Crawling" Spider-Man promos, lead to a short preview of Spider-Man facing off against Jamie Foxx’s Electro in Time Square.

Many fans were hoping for a little more than just a couple of new seconds of a fight scene. The first trailer for the film included easter eggs for the future films, including Vulture’s wings and Dr. Octopus’ tentacles.

Speaking of Doc Ock, a spin-off film surounding Spider-man villains, The Sinister Six, has officially been announced. In the comic books, the Sinister Six is a supergroup of Spider-Man villains often lead by Doc Ock.

If the team-up spin-off Sinister Six film wasn’t enough for Spidey to worry about, then wait until he gets a load of what is next. A Venom movie has also been announced. It is unknown if Andrew Garfield will be involved in either film, however, Spider-Man is a pivotal part of Venom’s origin story.
