Former Disney diva Hilary Duff and baby daddy Mike Comrie are calling it quits after just three years of marriage. According to reports, the 26-year-old is tired of her husband’s laziness, and doesn’t care if his family furniture company is worth $500 million.
Things were different for Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie three years ago.
Her career was in an upswing, and NHL star Mike still had two perfectly functional hips. Since then, both careers have cooled.
Once the couple started spending all their time together, they realized they didn’t want to be married anymore.
Duff is still young and ready to party, but the older Mike would rather sit around and rest his bad hip, a friend of the couple tells Life & Style:
“He’s in the house all day. It was a strain on the relationship...She was really young when they get married, and she still wants to go out and have fun. Mike’s more of a homebody.”
The pair announced their split without animous.
Duff and Comrie aren’t angry with one another, they just aren’t in love in anymore.
An inside source told In Touch that the couple just decided to move on emotionally:
“It’s been stressful for a while now, and it was obvious they wouldn’t last forever. They’re just too different. He’s quiet, older and a homebody...He’s the nicest guy, but she just fell out of love with him. They came to the decision together.”
The couple has a prenup to keep things from getting ugly in court.
Duff will keep all of her $25 million she has accrued selling her soul to Mickey Mouse and Comrie will keep the $500 million that his family furniture company is worth.
The two independently wealthy parents have reportedly agreed to joint custody of son Luca.
