Married Christina Ricci Plays Lizzie Borden In New Movie On Lifetime

Recently married, 33-year-old Christina is best remembered for her role as Wendy in the Addams Family movies of the nineties. So it makes sense that she would shine in her new dark role as ax murdering daughter Lizzie Borden in Lifetime’s new movie Lizzie Borden Took an Ax.

The star, who set teenage boys aflame with her portrayal of sex-crazed down-home girl Rae in Craig Brewer’s Black Snake Moan, told Us Weekly in a recent interview that she was a natural fit for Lifetime, because she already loved their content:

“I’m a huge fan on the one where hilary Swank is an abusive teen who beats up Joanna Kerns.”

One of the best things about shooting the movie in Novia Scotia was the down time she spent shopping, as Ricci told Us Weekly:

“There are a lot of little seaside villages and great shops. I love maritime antiques and ship paintings, so i brought some good stuff back with me.”

Though the real life Lizzie Borden was found not guilty of the murder of her parents, Ricci mentioned that in the new movie, you get to see her doing the deed from every conceivable angle:

“My arms got so tired because the ax was so heavy. You film scenes from a million different angles, and for every take, I did 12 chops with an ax. My arms were ripped for about two days after!”

Though Ricci does like the dramatic programing of Lifetime, she admitted to the publication that she loves the shows that are over the top:

“I miss Game of Thrones, so I read all the book when the season was over. And I have a bit of a reality show problem...Real Housewives. I love it so much. I’m totally into Beverly Hills!”

Isn’t everybody?
