Tonight is an all new episodes of the hit James Spader series, The Blacklist. The breakout show just returned to TV last week for a limited run before going back on hiatus for the Winter Olympic games. However, the brakes haven’t stopped the darkhorse drama from taking off. Among the big mysteries surrounding the series, is Ryan Eggold’s character Tom’s true intentions. Now the episode synopsis suggests that we are closer to learning the truth behind Tom’s big secret.
NBC’s The Blacklist could have been a cheap Silence of the Lambs rip-off, but it is far from it.
The brilliantly written and amazingly acted series proves each week that it is one of the best shows on TV. Tonight the show returns with an all new episode, titled ”The Alchemist.” The official synopsis for the episode reads:
“The team goes undercover to pursue the Alchemist, who uses science to transform DNA and who's been assigned to protect a mob informant. Elsewhere, Liz targets an unlikely couple; Tom and Liz's relationship is tested; and Ressler faces a big decision.”
Could that mean that we are finally getting closer to the truth about Liz’s husband Tom?
Last year, Ryan Eggold talked to The Huffington Post about the mysteries surrounding his character Tom:
“I just got the goods. When we shot that scene I truly didn’t know where they were going to go with Tom, but I just got a great scoop from the writers and they told me some ideas and they’re awesome. They’re very long term and they’re very ever-changing.”
The Blacklist airs tonight on NBC at 10 p.m.
The show will run every Monday until February 7, when the Winter Olympics will take over. The Blacklist will once again return on February 24, to finish out the rest of the season. The show has already been picked up for a second season.
