Well, it is official! Thor’s Chris Hemsworth and his pregnant wife, Elsa Pataky are expecting twin babies. This is especially great news for the family who recently had a near death scare while filming.
Pataky and Hemsworth are playing it safe when it comes to distance. They even both worked together on Thor. Pataky stood in for Natalie Portman during the kissing scene in the recent film. The actress spoke to PEOPLE last year about how to keep a family together:
“You have to make an effort and try to stay together as much as you can/ If we start splitting and doing other things it’s not going to last. We try and keep it as normal as much as we can--like a typical family.”
However, that philosophy almost backfired when the couple was reportedly both almost killed, when the boat they were on ran aground. Pataky was reportedly accompanying Hemsworth while he was filming his upcoming movie, In The Heart of the Sea.
That was not the only tragedy that almost befell the production. A deadly mudslide came through, endangering the lives of the cast and crew. Luckily, all involved in the production were safe, but tragically five others were killed during the event.
However, Hemsworth is not taking as many chances in the future. He recently revealed that he slowing down from acting, telling Bang Showbiz:
''I've been working solidly for a couple of years now, to the point where I have to slow down and spend some time with my family...'You spend so long having your hand up, saying 'C'mon, c'mon--pick me!' there is a fear of saying no to things. It's bred into you. I get s**t sent to me and I think, ' I should probably just take this.' But now I try to say, 'Hold on--do you even like it? ' I do have a little control now. That's the transition--I'm not at the mercy of someone else so much. That's just as scary as it is liberating.''
