Last year the country music community and the world got a shock when it was revealed that Randy Travis had been hospitalized with severe health issues. After undergoing two surgeries and a stroke, the legendary singer was released only to find out a few weeks later, that his condition had gone from bad to worse. Travis reportedly needed a third surgery and was rumored to be partially paralyzed. Now new photos of the singer have emerged alongside new health updates. Last but not least, a lost song demo has also been released.
Good news! After months of concern, Randy Travis is reportedly starting to do better. Fans even got a look at the star thanks to Twitter.
Jimmy Carter, not the former President of the United States of America, but the other one, retweeted a picture of Travis from Anthony Maurizio, a family friend of Travis’ with the caption:
“Not sure about this...BUT from actor Anthony Maurizio twitter acct... Randy Travis...no commentary just a pic.”
Reports from Maurizio suggest that Travis’ heath is improving. Singer/songwriter Bonnie Paul also added to the updates, writing recently:
“Great Xmas news 4 y'all , my mom was actually talking with Randy on phone , sounds strong and wonderful and walking on his own.....”
Paul also recently released a demo song of Travis’ called “Childhood Sweethearts”
Last October, Travis released a new record called, The Influence Vol 1: The Man I Am, about which he wrote on his website:
“When I think of my musical heroes of yesteryear, or the younger stars of this year, I am reminded that it is true we learn from the ones ahead of us, and teach the ones that follow. They are the reason I chose to make this album.”
Thankfully, Travis is starting to improve.
