Steppin' Out: Eight-Time Grammy Winner Herb Alpert Earns Another for Best Pop Instrumental Album

Now, we take a moment to honor the ingenious multi-award-winning Herb Alpert and his most recent Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album.

Steppin' Out, Alpert's winning record, continues his pedigree of top-charting discs. Alpert's latest features him, once again, on trumpet and vocals, singer Lani Hall, keyboard player Bill Cantos, Michael Shapiro on drums and percussion, bassist Hussain Jiffry, Coco Triuisonno on bandoneon and Ramon Stagnaro on acoustic guitar.

The 16-track album also includes a contemporary version of Irving Berlin's "Puttin' on the Ritz."

We remind you, too, that Alpert's latest art installation "Spirit Totems"--an outdoor exhibition showing three 16-foot totems at New York City's Dante Park--is surely not to miss.

We here at Classicalite honor you, Mr. Herb Alpert, for your continued prolificacy and wondrous artistic endeavors (music and art alike) as you continue to dominate in 2014.

To wit, here's that rendition of "Puttin' on the Ritz."
