Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts has become the embodiment of strength, revealing to the world that she was gay after successfully battling life-threatening cancer. Now the survivor and her girlfriend Amber Laign are allegedly ready to be engaged and get pregnant.
It wasn't easy overcoming the cancer that kept Robin Roberts sick and in bed for days on in, but she had long-time girlfriend Amber to help her through the trying time.
A close friend of the couple told Star at the beginning of the year that Robin was completely helpless without Amber steading presence:
"There were days when Robin literally didn't have the strength to drink a glass of water, and Amber was there for her at Robin's Manhattan apartment, feeding her ice chips and wiping the perspiration from her forehead."
Perhaps that is why, once Roberts got her health back, she couldn't wait to tell the world about the amazing love of her life.
Now that Amber has acclimated to the presence of the national spotlight, a friend told Star that Robin is ready to put a ring on it:
"Robin made sure Amber was totally comfortable about becoming a public person. The next step will be the announcement or their engagement--and then a glorious wedding. They're totally devoted to each other."
But an engagement isn't all Roberts is planning for the New Year. She wants to have a baby with Amber, while she is still young enough to enjoy it.
An inside source told OK! that 39-year-old Amber would have the kid since Robert's blood is damaged goods, and the two had already found the juice:
"Robin wants to make the most of her second chance at life. The plan is for Amber to carry the baby-and they've already picked the donor."
