Hollywood is abuzz with talk of all the recent PDA between Sean Penn and Monster star Charlize Theron. The two were all over each other at the recent humanitarian event for earthquake ravaged Haiti, leading anyone with eyes to speculate that they are dating. Rumor has it that Charlize's mother is unhappy that she is getting involved with the womanizing bad boy.
Charlize Theron and Sean Penn are reportedly already hitting the first bump in the road to a life happily-ever-after.
Word around the campfire has it that the 38-year-old bombshell's mother Gerda is none too pleased about the couple's burgeoning romance.
Gerda is having a hard time getting over Sean's past and is afraid he is not good for Charlize, says Star:
"The South African native if fearful that womanizing Sean will break her daughter's heart. While the protective mama bear has never minded their friendship, sources say she 'begged Charlize not to let it turn romantic.'"
Gerda is most concerned about rumors that Sean, who was recently with Madonna in Haiti, has been hooking up with his ex-wife, according to the celebrity gossip mill.
Whether it's true or not, it is the furthest thing from Theron's mind.
Charlize isn't prepared that that is even a possibility a close friend tell Star:
"Charlize refuses to believe it happened, but Gerda worries about her like any mother would."
While Gerda may by disappointed in her daughter's decision, most people seem to be excited for the couple.
An eyewitness to their Help Haiti Home fundraiser snuggling told the NY Daily News that the couple reminded them of a couple of high school kids:
"They looked like two teenagers in love. They were hugging each other the entire evening. When a film about Haiti was played, Sean was resting his head on Charlize's shoulder and was holding her hand and kissing it. It was all very cute, I've never seen Sean so happy. He had a permanent smile on his face."
You have to wonder why Gerda even attended with Sean and Charlize, but then again, every party needs a pooper.
