For months, rumors have been flying that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes would breakup. Many publications began claiming that the two have already split, however, a rep has denied those allegations. Claims that Gosling has begun dating former girlfriend Rachel McAdams also seem to be false.
Despite everything you may have read (and there's been a lot to read), Ryan and Eva are doing just fine. At least that's how Mende's representative made it seem when speaking to E! News, as the gossip site reports:
"Sorry, ladies...Despite new reports which claim the couple, who were first romantically linked in September 2011, called it quits over the holidays, Eva's rep tells E! News the latest breakup reports are just another round of rumors."
Of course, that's a much different story than the gossip site reported back in January. In fact, E! was certain that the couple was headed towards disaster:
"[Ryan and Eva], who haven't been spotted together in almost three months, have yet to speak publically about their relationship. Mendes' latest interview, for Violet Grey, was no exception. The brunette beauty remained mum on her leading man despite the reporter's best efforts to get her to open up."
That report, however, seems much more in line with other articles we've seen, including a 2013 report from OK! Magazine. The popular tabloid quoted a source as revealing that it was Eva who ended things:
"Eva said the relationship just ran its course. There wasn't a lot to say. He was everything you're supposed to want in a guy--great on paper--but she felt like something was missing."
Then again, the insider also revealed that it may have something to do with Eva's alleged inability to commit:
"Maybe that's the commitment-phobe in her. Ryan wanted more, and then realized that just wasn't going to happen...The more he wanted to get more serious, the more she pulled back. So, to him, it just wasn't worth investing his heart into the relationship, and he stopped caring."
