‘Today’ Show Matt Lauer and Ann Curry Fired Feud Scandal Movie; Bald Host Fears Backlash?

Bald Today show host may have got his way back in 2012, when he reportedly lobbied for co-host Ann Curry to be fired. But Matt Lauer has long since regretted the backlash that will not die, ever since the book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV, which chronicles in the inside dynamic of the supposed feud and ensuing scandal, was published. Now that the book is being made into a movie, Lauer is whispered to be in a state of constant fear and paranoia.

Matt Lauer is just about worried sick, knowing that the book, which negatively documents his recent morning shows travails, is going to be made in to a movie, a source close to Lauer told In Touch:

"Matt is so nervous and has been asking everyone if they've seen the script yet. The book depicts everything that happened back then, and Matt is worried that he's going to be painted as the villain."

Whether or not Lauer had anything to do with former co-host Ann Curry, it seems pretty apparent that he now regrets her dismissal, among other things.

Matt may have been angry with Curry at the time, but a source tells Star that now he is afraid her being let go is going to reflect poorly on him, permanently:

"He's worried that his reputation will never recover. Matts been dodging bullets for a year and doesn't want to have to relive all the horrible accusation...Matt had a serious temper tantrum. But Ann is thrilled; she finally feels vindicated."

Not only is Matt worried about how his actions will look on the big screen, he is also conscerned with how his character will look.

The TV personality is afraid that they might not get the perfect actor to pretend to be him, according to a confidant in In Touch:

"He's also obsessed with who's going to play him in the movie. It's definitely going to play up Ann as the victim and the hero. She's finally getting her revenge."

Worst of all, Lauer already knows that the media will tear him apart, even if the film doesn't.

In an interview with Esquire, he admitted just how disappointed he was with how much misinformation was being spread about what went down between him and Ann:

"The way the media treated what happened with Ann Curry was a disappointing learning experience. I was disappointed by the laziness of the media, the willingness to read a rumor, repeat that rumor, and treat it as a fact."

And it's not over yet.
