Bridgit Mendler’s ‘Good Luck Charlie’ Series Finale After Death Threats and Lesbian Episode

Tonight is the very last for the hit Disney Channel show Good Luck Charlie. The series finale airs tonight. Say goodbye to Bridgit Mendler and the rest of the Duncan clan. Meanwhile, the show’s young star, five-year-old Mia Talerico, has been the victim of some recent death threats. Where the source of the threats is still under investigation, there has been some speculation that the threats may be connected to the shows recent episode featuring a lesbian couple.

The Duncan clan has one last dinner together. Bridgit Mendler Instagramed a picture from the outing, along with the message:

“GLC dinner the other night, sad to say goodbye this Sunday :( but the episode is going to be reallyyyyy good!”

Meanwhile, the show’s young lead, Mia Talerico, was recently the victim of some serious online harassment.

The five-year-old actress was reportedly on the receiving end of some pretty nasty death threats. The young actress was the victim of some harsh harassment on Instagram. The comments have not been released but TMZ has reported that some of the remarks included:

"Die Mia, F*****g Die in hell! Kill yourself, you deserve to die."

As well as,"Yes, kill youreself [SIC] stupid b***h."

LAPD Commander Andrew Smith spoke with PEOPLE about the threats telling the publication:

"Our threat analysis unit always keeps our threat investigations findings and recommendations confidential because often the people who make threats read the media coverage they receive."

The finale episode of the series, titled “Good Bye Charlie,” airs tonight on the Disney Channel.

Last year, it was announced that this would be the finale season for the series. A rep for the Disney Channel made the announcement in a statement to the press:

“On behalf of everyone at Disney Channel, it’s been our great pleasure to work with the extraordinary producers Phil Baker, Drew Vaupen and Dan Staley and the writers and crew of Good Luck Charlie...We could not have dreamt of a better cast than Bridgit Mendler, Jason Dolley, Leigh-Allyn Baker, Bradley Steven Perry, Mia Talerico and Eric Allan Kramer (and even little Logan Moreau as Baby Toby!) and the many guest stars who make the series so special.”
