Things are changing at the Disney Channel. A.N.T. Farm is now in its final season. In the next new episode of the show, Mighty Med’s Jake Short starts dating Sierra McCormick. Check below for a special preview.

Sad news for A.N.T.Farm fANaTics. The ensemble Disney Channel series about the the group of talented and gifted students has been canceled. The current season will be the very last.

Late last year, China Anne McClain broke the news to fans when she announced the series cancellation via Twitter :

“It was GREAT filming ANT Farm but after 3 seasons it's come to an end. I'm excited about my secret projects and keeping you guys happy!”

The show is currently on hiatus but will return next Friday, Feb 28, with an all new episode. The next installmANT, "meANT to be?," will feature Jake Short’s character Fletcher hooking up with Sierra McCormick’s Olive. The official plot synopsis for the new episode reads:

“Olive and Fletcher start dating, but they question their relationship when Chyna freaks out. Angus is jealous of Olive and Fletcher dating, so he tries to sabotage their date, so Angus can date her.”

Meanwhile, Jack Short is already moving on from the series. The young actor is currently co-starring in Disney XD’s Mighty Med, alongside Good Luck Charlie’s Bradley Steven Perry.

The new show on the Disney Channel’s sister network, (or should we say brother network, because it is targeted towards boys) Disney XD, features Short and Perry as dimwitted doctors at a special hospital for superheroes.

The latest, post-Hannah Montana generation of Disney Channel shows are starting to disappear. First, Shake It Up went down and now Good Luck Charlie has said goodbye.

With A.N.T. Farm leaving, only Jessie and Dog with a Blog are left standing. The next generation is already starting to creep in with the new Dove Cameron vehicle Liv and Maddie and the new show, I Didn’t Do it
