James Spader’s ‘The Blacklist’ Returns with Special Guest Oscar Winner Dianne Wiest

The Blacklist is back, and it is just as good ever. The hit NBC series, starring James Spader, returned last week after a nearly month-long hiatus for the 2014 Winter Olympics. In tonight's new episode of the record breaking show, Academy and Emmy award winning actress Dianne Wiest will be joining the cast for what promises to be yet another amazing showing.

The Blacklist is getting a very big name to guest star on today’s episode. The great James Spader will be joined by the highly acclaimed Dianne Wiest in tonight's new episode.

The official plot synopsis for tonight's new episode, titled “The Judge,” reads:

“A prosecutor is found after being missing for 12 years, prompting Red to target ‘The Judge’ (Dianne Wiest), who allegedly oversees an underground criminal appeals process that punishes those who have wrongly imprisoned others. Meanwhile, Red scrutinizes a woman who tempts Tom in Orlando.”

The darkhorse drama has proven to be one of, if not the best shows to come out of the 2013-2014 TV lineup. The freshmen series was awarded a very early second season order.

Rob Greenblatt, Chairman of NBC, released a statement last year about the series renewal:

"The success of The Blacklist demonstrates that inspired storytelling is alive and well in broadcast television, and I'm impressed on a daily basis by this creative team's imagination and the extent to which they will go to capture this grand vision on film. With gratitude to both our partners at Sony Pictures Television and our NBC development executives who took a great script and shepherded it into a great series, I hope that Red Reddington never runs out of names to bring down on his list!"

Be sure to check out tonight's all new episode on NBC at 10 p.m, after The Voice.
