And now we close awards season 2014. All the winners, nominees and various other hanger-ons can sit around waiting for next year's laurels.
We, on the other hand, can move the eff on. Finally!
But not after one tiny little post about the music winners...and maybe the ridiculous speeches from the true detective at the Dallas Buyers Club.
Here at Classicalite, we set our own agenda for the Academy Awards--specifically, the contenders for Best Original Score and Best Original Song.
And, to be fair, we were wrong.
With a three-hour-plus running time that left us lowly viewers damn near comatose, the telecast peaked with Matty Mac and his inconceivable acceptance speech (at least JLeto's was, umm, sincere).
If you couldn't sit to wait and see Leo DiCaprio unwittingly lose to yet another undeserving actor, you spared yourself Matthew David McConaughey's obligatory: "Alright, alright, alright."
But enough about him. Really. You came here for the music.
So, here are your two biggest musical winners from Hollywood's handjob:
Best Original Score: Gravity
Best Original Song: "Let It Go"
Not that Frozen's "Let It Go" needs any more hype, but here, too, is Idina Menzel (née Adele Dazeem?) putting Demi Lovato to shame.
