The force is strong with Zac Efron, or at least that's what he told Ryan Seacrest this past weekend. The High School Musical star may be returning to his Disney roots in the upcoming Star Wars Episode 7. Rumor has it that the Neighbors star has been cast in the new film. Meanwhile, Tom ‘Loki’ Hiddleston has also opened up about possibly starting in the new film.
Zac Efron is back on a role, following last year's cocaine rehab rumors. Now the actor may have landed a hot role in one the highest grossing franchises of all time.
While on the red carpet at this weekend's Oscars, Efron spoke with Ryan Seacrest about starring in the upcoming Star Wars film.
“Is it true? I don’t even know yet.” before adding, “I guess the force is with me tonight.”
Efron previously told MTV that he was in talks for a role in the film:
“I just went and met with [producers]. So I don’t know. It would be cool. I love [the Star Wars movies], I love them, but … who knows?”
Meanwhile, Efron might not be the only Disney star to join the film. It has been rumored that Tom Hiddleston may be cast in the movie. In a recent interview, Hiddleston opened up about possible starring in the new Star Wars:
"Well, that hasn’t happened yet. It’d be very flattering, of course…I imagine they’re looking for people who don’t have an association elsewhere. The audience need to believe in the character, rather than saying, ‘Oh look, it’s Loki with a lightsaber!'"
