2014 Season 18 of The Bachelor has been the weirdest and "rockiest" ride for host Chris Harrison since he started with the series 12 years ago. Though almost all the ladies seem to hate Galavis, Chris Harrison thinks he is just naive and not the insincere schemer that he's been accused of being.
Juan Pablo had his hind end handed to him from the contestants on this season's Women Tell All, but in his defense, that didn't just happen all by itself.
Galavis worked hard all season long to offend each and every one of these women whenever he got the opportunity.
Lauren S. seemed to sum up overall sentiments the best with her remarks that Juan Pablo was a fake who is more interested in himself than anyone else (via People):
"A lot of our conversations were surface level.
"He didn't really ask us a lot of questions about ourselves...I felt like he wasn't genuine."
Host of the show for a dozen seasons, Chris Harrison told OK! that this year was tougher than it needed to be, but he didn't think that Juan Pablo was a deceitful person at heart:
"This was the rockier road than ever. The walkouts were jarring. He was dumped.
"[But] it was like going back 12 years and having somebody who had never seen the show. There's an innocence a naiveté to him, and the cultural difference.
"People bring baggage...It isn't fake."
"It's not a game show. Our show is left up to two people and a life choice."
News has it that Andi Dorfman who got the first verbal crack at Juan Pablo weeks ago will be rewarded for her brutal honesty, by getting to be the Bachelorette next season.
While Juan Pablo's public humiliation has become old hat, Andi was the first to call him names as well as call him out (via Fox):
"Do I appreciate honesty? Absolutely. Do I think you take it too far? Absolutely. Do you not see there's a difference between being an a**hole and being honest?"
Oh well Juan Pablo...at least Camila will still love you, probably.
