Turn out the lights, the party's over before it even got started. Actress Kate Hudson and Muse front man Matthew Bellamy have reportedly called off their engagement. Matt, who realizes that a breakup would be cheaper than a divorce, is rumored to want the split, because he is tired of her Hollywood lifestyle. Kate hasn't publicly confirmed the split, but was spotted at the Oscars and elsewhere sans engagement ring.
Kate Hudson is neither lucky in life nor in love. The mid-thirties actress and her British beau Matthew are reportedly calling their engagement off, taking the record for Hollywood's shortest marriage.
The couple's hectic schedules and different lifestyles have been pulling them apart and, according to speculation, have been living completely separate lives for a while.
At first it seemed like the rift between the two could be easily mending by just spending more time together a close friend told E!:
"It's true that occasionally they don't spend as much time together as they would like-work pulls them apart from time to time. But they are working on strengthening their relationship.
"They go through their ups and downs like every other couple.
"They love one another very much and will do what it takes to make it work."
Apparently that is easier said than done, and it's hard to spend time together when you don't like the place where one another lives.
A source close to Bellamy told Us Weekly that Matt was just as tired with her whole scene as he was tired of her engagement:
"[Her Hollywood world] got to be too much for him.
"They've had problems for ages and grew apart.
"It goes back and forth...I think it's over, but they're just figuring out how to let go."
Oh, that's easy...you just do it one hand at a time.
