Lang To Continue U.S. Tour In Eight Major Cities

Well known Chinese pianist Lang Lang will tour eight cities in the United States before he heads off to tour Asia at the end of November. With the first city of the remaining American tour slated for San Antonio.

Lang Lang will be in San Antonio for a recital on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at the Majestic Theatre at 7:30 p.m. where he will perform the works of Mozart and Chopin.

The pianist continues his stay in Texas with a visit to Houston. He will play at Jones Hall from Oct. 18 to Oct. 21 where he will perform Lindberg, Beethoven and Schumann together with the Houston Symphony.

Oct. 26 will see the musician in Denver, Colorado teaming up with the Colorado Symphony at the Boettcher Concert Hall at a 7:30 p.m. Lang Lang and the ensemble will perform Stravinsky's "Petrouchka" and Tchaikovsky's "Piano Concerto No.1."

Tuscon Music Hall will then welcome him for a recital on Oct. 28 in Tuscon, Arizona where he will play Mozart and Chopin.

Afterwards Lang Lang will return to New York's Carnegie Hall on Oct.30 where he will play host to benefit concert for his organization the International Music Foundation. The event called Lang Lang and Friends will see acts like Dee Dee Bridgewater and Joshua Bell take to the stage.

San Francisco will then welcome Lang Lang on Nov. 2 at Davis Hall where he will join up with SF Symphony with Michael Tilson Thomas as the conductor to perform the works of Cowell, Prokofiev and Rachmaninoff.

The artist will be in Washington DC at the Kennedy Center from Nov. 7 to Nov. 10. On the first date in the city, Lang Lang will do a recital with the National Symphony Orchestra. The remaining days he will again team with the ensemble but with conductor Christoph Eschenbach at the helm.

Lang Lang's final stop in the United States before he tours Asia will be at the Woodruff-Atlanta Symphony Hall in Atlanta, Georgia on Nov. 17 where he will perform Beethoven.

The pianist will play in the Asian cities of Shanghai, Taipei, Hong Kong and Seoul at the end of November.
