Sony's Playstation 4 according to Gamenguide.com is rumored to have its release date for sometime in 2014 instead of earlier date.The unit was speculated to be in development but Sony says the lack of resources is hampering the process.
Playstation UK's Fergal Gara had said that the development resources were a bit scanty for all platforms his company was working on, including the Playstation 4.
Gara told Digital Trends. "We do have a challenge to manage the next generation of consoles, particularly in terms of dev studio resources. The more platforms you have, and the amount of rich content you have to deliver on all the systems you are supporting clearly puts pressure on decisions made across the studio network, which is something we are battling with."
The rumour codename was given to the new Sony product that of "Orbis." Sony's direct rivals Mircosoft are rumored to be developing the Xbox 720 while Nintendo plans to release its eight generation console the Wii U in November in North America, Europe and Australia with Japan scheduled for a early December release date.
The Sony Playstation 3 has been on the world market since 2006 and has sold 63.9 million units to date and is seen to be the direct competitor to Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo's Wii.
The machine is a Blu-ray Disc player and DVD player as well and also boasting connectivity with Sony's Playstation Portable (PSP).
The video game console has gone through some transformation as it was scaled down in size from its original model to a slim version in recent times.
The last gaming system Sony released was the PS Vita.
