‘Today’ Show Matt Lauer: Jerry Sandusky Wife Claims Victims Lie for Money In Interview

In her first interview since the Jerry Sandusky's trial, his wife of 37 years Dottie told Today Show's Matt Lauer that her husband had been wrongly convicted, due to witness/victim "manipulation" and offers of "money."

Jerry Sandusky was convicted on 45 out of 48 counts of the sexual abuse of minors back in 2012, but his wife Dottie still insists that those allegations were trumped up by people seeking a ride on the money train that plowed dead through the middle of the Sandusky's lives.

Dottie told Matt Lauer on Today that she wasn't some cowed housewife that couldn't see the truth, but insisted instead that she ran her house and knows exactly what kind of man her husband is:

"I'm not a weak spouse. As you know...they call me 'Sarge' because Jerry said I kept everybody in line. If they want to say that, let them say that. I know who I am. And I know who Jerry is. And I know he did not do the horrible crimes that he's convicted of.

"Do I believe him?...I definitely believe him. Because if I didn't believe him, when I testified at trial, I could have not said what I said. I would have had to tell the truth.

"I believe he showered with kids. That's the generation that Jerry grew up in.

"[Witnesses] were manipulated, and they saw money.

"Once lawyers came into the case, they said there was money."

Dottie was joined by filmmaker John Ziegler for the interview held in her Penn. State home.

Ziegler reiterated Dottie's point, that it's completely normative for a fully grown adult man and a little boy to shower together naked without anyone else around (via Today):

"I fully acknowledge, I would not do it in a million years, nor would I recommend anyone do it in a million years, especially in 2014.

"But that's not what Jerry Sandusky is in prison for. That's not why he's probably going to die in prison and has had his pension taken away. That's not why Joe Paterno was unjustly fired and three Penn State administrators are facing losing their freedom over this case."

"I'm certain of one thing above everything else after two years of investigating this case, and that is that Dottie Sandusky is not delusional. She knows the case better than the vast majority of media members, and she is positive that Jerry Sandusky is innocent."

Well, if his wife thinks he's innocent, then there is probably nothing to worry about.

Besides Sandusky wasn't "sexually" attracted to young boys, he was trying to get those kids limber so they wouldn't get any cramps or muscle pulls.
