Tonight Archer: Vice is all new with a special guest star. Christian Slater is joining the gang. Meanwhile the show has been renewed for a sixth and seventh season. However, the show will be dropping the Vice theme in seasons 6 and 7.
Where there is a plane full of cocaine then Christian Slater can’t be too far behind. Ok so maybe that is only true when it comes to tonight’s new episode of Archer. Slater will be lending his talents to tonight's all new episode of the show.
Archer has proven to be hit for FX. The show has already been picked up for at least two more seasons. The networks president of original programming, Eric Schrier, released a statement to the press about the show’s two season renewal:
“Archer is one of the best comedies on television and has played a significant role in the growth of the FX comedy brand, We’re grateful to Adam Reed, Matt Thompson and their team at Floyd County, and also our incredible voice cast, and are looking forward to supporting their work for at least two more seasons.”
Archer creator, Adam Reed recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about dropping the Vice theme next year:
“I think this next season we will sort of unreboot, or whatever--deboot,“and get back to the basics of some spy missions.”
Reed went on to tease some of the possible plot points, adding:
“Lana’s going to have a baby, so I see some funny things with getting her co-workers to babysit. I wrote this down the other day: ‘Somebody walks in on Pam [Poovey, ISIS human resources director] chewing up Vienna sausages and then spitting them into the baby’s mouth like a gorilla.’ They’re like, ‘What are you doing?’ And she’s like, ‘This is how I always do it!’”
Archer airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. on FX.
