Randy Travis is one of the most recognizable names in country music. The legendary singer is a beloved member of the Nashville community. However, he is not without his flaws. The struggling singer has had a string of drunk driving arrests in his past. Several high profile members of the industry came out in support of Travis, after his near death illness last year. Now that Travis is on the road to recovery and looking to make some new music, there are new unconfirmed reports that Travis has asked county queen Taylor Swift to work with him, and she flat out refused.

It has been reported by Showbiz Spy that Taylor Swift is refusing to work with Randy Travis. According to the site, Travis reached out to the starlet to help him reboot his career and Swift refused. The website reported that an unnamed source claims:

“Randy is desperate to get his career back on track. He has had his people reach out to Taylor Swift about a possible duet, but she said no!”

The website goes on to add that another unnamed source, allegedly close to Swift, says that she refuses to work with the struggling singer:

“Taylor is steering well clear of Randy. She knows about all his troubles. She can’t be associated with someone like that.”

However, it should be noted that these reports are unconfirmed.

As for the rest of the country music community, most members have publicly shown their overwhelming support for the singer. During his recent recovery troubles, several well known names offered up prayers for Travis.

Actor Jon Voight even took a few minutes out of the George Jones Tribute show last year to talk about Travis:

“I’m so deeply honored to be in the church of Jones with you all. George Jones had a good friend who was really all of our good friend, and that is Randy Travis. And Randy is going through a great challenge as we speak, and he’s making great strides. And as we know the most important thing, the most important thing to a person’s recovery is their will to recover, and I feel that with all our love and prayers Randy will receive that energy and perhaps, perhaps a miracle may be shown.I know Randy is going to be listening to this. He’s going to be watching this so we have an opportunity to speak to him. Let’s make a human chain of love for Randy. Hold the hand of the person next to you, and…we’ll shout Randy’s name. He’s not too far away from here, he can probably hear us from this building.”
