Who would have thought that so much drama could come from a kids network? Recently, former iCarly star Jennette McCurdy made waves when she didn’t show up for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. Shortly after, she claimed that her no show was because of the way the network was treating her. She also made a vague mention of Ariana Grande in her Twitter post defending her actions. Grande has since taken to the social networking site to defend the fact that her and McCurdy get paid the same, but that was the only rumor she addressed. Now it has been reported that McCurdy has been hanging with Victoria Justice. It was rumored that Grande and Justice have been feuding since their show Victorious was canceled. Could this be a sign that McCurdy is looking to end Sam and Cat?
If Ariana Grande and Jennette McCurdy’s budding careers were not enough to kill any chances of a second season of Sam and Cat, then McCurdy’s recent falling out with Nickelodeon might do the trick. Jennette no showed at the KCAs two weeks ago. Afterwards, she explained her absence via a Twitter Twitlonger blog. During her rant she made a reference to her co-star, Ariana Grande, writing:
“I want to thank those of you who have reached out with kind words of support, McCurdians and Arianators alike. No matter who or what you support, I believe in supporting fairness first. If you have done that, thank you.”
Rumors then started circulating that Jennette was upset that Grande was making more money than her. Ariana has since addressed the pay issue, writing in her own Twitlonger post:
“I hate addressing rumors and I hate gossip but this is really bothering me. Jennette and I agreed upfront that we would be treated equally on this show in all regards (as we should be, considering we each work just as hard as the other on this show). The rumors circulating about our contracts and our salary not being equal are absolutely ridiculous and false.”
However, Grande did not address any of the rumors that she was involved in the feud.
