ABC 2014 ‘Scandal’ Season 3: Shonda Rimes Spoilers; Columbus Short Fired After Knifing Wife? [VIDEO]

ABC 2014 Season 3 Scandal showrunner Shonda Rimes revealed in a behinds the scenes spoilers session with Jimmy Kimmel that Jake Ballard, aka Scott Foley, almost wound up in the VP position instead of running B613. Some fans want actor Columbus Short fired from the series for reportedly holding a knife to his wife, Tanee McCall's throat, while promising to kill both her and himself.

Columbus Short just can't seem to get his act together; after being arrested for attacking his wife is front of his kids in February, Short has again been arrested, this time for allegedly threatening to kill his wife and himself with a knife.

Columbus is the kind of guy who likes to get a bit of a buzz going, before heading home to irreparably traumatizing his wife and children, reports the Ny Daily News:

"Columbus Short is facing a restraining order from his estranged wife after she claims he threatened to kill her and himself.

"Tanee McCall claims that her husband came into her room with a wine bottle in his hand, pretended to hit her with the bottle and then poured its contents on her.

"McCall claims her husband then obtained a knife and began choking her, interrogating her about men he believed she was sleeping with. Short supposedly said that if she lied, he would stab her in the leg.

"Short allegedly held a knife to her throat and threatened to commit a murder-suicide...he then slashed her tires as she tried to escape."

Angry fans have since taken to Twitter to call out Shonda Rimes for letting Columbus remain on the show, in light of such deplorable behavior. (via Hollywood Life)

But Shonda has mostly just been dishing about the deets behind the deciosns that make up the show.

Like Shond revealing to Jimmy Kimmel that Jake Ballard, who is played by Skott Foley, almost would up VP instead of head of B613:

"Half the [writer's] room wanted him to be the vice presidential candidate and half wanted him to be the head of B613.

"And we fought about it right up until the last minute--so much so that we shot both ways."

One can only speculate aout how Shonda will eventually deal with Short's off-screen ramapges, but there is no doubt, that Rimes isn't scared to give a character the axe for not playing well with others.
