There is no new episode of Sam & Cat on this weekend. The show is taking a one week break before returning next weekend. However, there might not be many new episodes left. The show has already aired 31 out of 40 episodes. Now that the first (and possibly) last season has wrapped, Jennette McCurdy has dyed her blonde hair brown. This along with an alleged feud with Ariana Grande has lead many people to believe that the show will be canceled.
Last month Jennette McCurdy shocked her fanbase when she didn’t show for Kid Choice Awards. Afterwards she addressed the issue via writing in a Twitlonger blog:
“A lot of you guys are asking why I didn't attend the KCAs.... I wish I could explain everything as thoroughly as I would like to, but unfortunately a simpler explanation is all I can write. I was put in an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation (many of you have guessed what it is) and I had to look out for me. I chose to not go because sticking up for what is right and what is fair is what my mom taught me is ALWAYS the most important thing.”
Jennette also made reference to her co-star Ariana Grande, adding:
“I want to thank those of you who have reached out with kind words of support, McCurdians and Arianators alike. No matter who or what you support, I believe in supporting fairness first. If you have done that, thank you.”
This has sparked rumors that the issue was due a pay discrepancy between Jennette and Ariana. However, Grande has since come out claiming that they get the same amount.
