FLUX Quartet Play Morton Feldman's Six-Hour String Quartet No. 2 on Park Avenue Armory's Recital Series

The FLUX Quartet has awed critics and audiences for some time now, receiving serious modern love from publications and reviewers wherever they have trod.

And they've trodden a lot: Carnegie's Zankel Hall, the Kennedy Center, Walker Art Center, the Chihuahua International Arts Festival in Mexico and so on (and so forth).

Now, FLUX will take the stage as a part of the Park Avenue Armory's Recital Series on Saturday, April 26 at 3:00 p.m.

They will be performing the six-hour second string quartet of one Morton Feldman--a brilliant longhaul if ever there were one.

According to the Park Avenue Armory site:

The FLUX Quartet has "established its credentials as one of the most fearless and important new-music ensembles around," playing with "precision and tenderness" (San Francisco Chronicle). Hailed by Alex Ross as "legendary for its furiously committed, untiring performances," the intrepid ensemble brings their remarkable skill and passion to Morton Feldman's String Quartet No. 2, a six-hour feat of endurance and transcendence for both performers and audience alike.

A nominal $40 gets you in to hear one of the hallmarks of the New York School rep; you can buy tickets here.

For those who can't wait, though, here's the quartet performing an excerpt from "String Quartet No. 2" by Mort Feldman.
