Tough titties for brother Shannon and the rest of the band, Jesus-look-alike/sex symbol Jared Leto is reportedly making the transition back to movies following his band 30 Seconds to Mars being dropped from its EMI record label and the success of Dallas Buyer's Club. Plus that will give him more time to spend getting to know Roar singer Katy Perry, now that she's all broken up from John Mayer. Rumor has it Jared is looking to make Katy his new girlfriend among other things.
Jared Leto and the rest of his 30 Secnds to Mars crew have permanently parted ways with their record label Virgin Records/EMI after nearly a decade long relationship.
A relationship that Jared and the boys are more than happy to be rid of, as he explained in his Billboard interview (via GigWise):
"We're free and clear and excited about the future. It's the most wonderful place to be."
"What a strange business that you're more excited to leave your label than you are about working there.
"I's not anti-label...It's anti-greed. It's about artists examining the difficulty between the conflict of art and commerce, how corruption can kill dreams."
Besides Jared's got a lot of different dreams; he recently told the Associated Press that he was going to be returning to movies just as soon as he found a good fit (via NME):
"I'm looking at scripts and reading scripts...Which is interesting because I didn't read scripts for years before Dallas Buyers Club.
"But now you have opportunities to work with people that you really respect or admire, people whose work has been inspiring and influential."
Not to mention his dream to boldly go where many a Hollywood star has gone before--Jared is reportedly trying to hook up with Katy Perry.
An insider told Hollywood Life that Jared was doing his best to arrange a way to get to the Fireworks singer a little better:
"They both spent time at Coachella, and he's trying to arrange a date, or at least a chance to hang with her alone.
"[Katy] has a thing for shaggy music guys, and his eyes melt her.
"Jared hopes to take her on a date before they head their separate way."
