Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have reportedly been having marriage problems for months; leading some to suggest that Ellen's emotional wife may soon make news by filing for divorce. Perhaps that is why Ellen is rumored to have agreed to bring a baby into their family--she hopes that once Portia is pregnant she'll have someone to keep her entertained. Anything to take de Rossi's focus off her latest demand of DeGeneres, sources say the Portia wants Ellen to quit working on her show so much, so they can spend more time together.
Day time talk show host Ellen is reportedly having to deal with more than just the demand and rigors of running one of America's most favorite television shows; DeGeneres is having to deal with her high-strung wife, Portia de Rossi's, demands as well.
A close friend of the couple told ShowBiz Spy that Portia is pissed that Ellen is never home and wants her spend less time working on her show (via IBTimes):
"Portia is very demanding. She wants Ellen to work less, and spend more time with her. But Ellen doesn't want to--she has worked hard to get to where she is, and isn't going to let things slide.
"They both have expensive tastes, and Ellen has to work hard so they can afford them!"
Perhaps that is why Ellen has reportedly agreed to let Portia have the baby she's been begging for--anything to get de Rossi to let her work.
An insider reports that Portia has been wanting a little de Rossi for a long as she can remember, and now she's going to get what she wants (via National Inquirer):
"Portia put the baby issue on the back burner for years knowing Ellen wasn't altogether receptive.
"I think Ellen has had misgivings about chasing after a young one when she'll be into her 60s.
"But Portia turns 40 in January, and in the end, Ellen loves Portia with all her heart.
"If a baby is that important to Portia, Ellen can't say no to her...Next year is going to be the year for them."
That Portia de Rossi sure knows how to drive a hard bargain.
