2014 ABC ‘Resurrection’ TV Show Spoilers: Season 2 Renewed; Omar Epps Talks Characters, Death

ABC has renewed it's new Sunday series Resurrection for a Season 2, but seemingly only because the show's 2014 finale finally brought in some more key demographic viewers after falling in rating every single episode. Spoilers: Omar Epps, who spoke weeks ago about believing the characters' crazy finale revelations would propel the show into at least another year, recently spoke in depth about what he thinks happen after you die, as well as giving some insight into the enigma that is his Bellamy.

Thankfully for all the cast and crew of ABC's preternatural series Resurrection the network decided to renew the show, after finally seeing a rise in ratings.

According to the LA Time despite the show's slipping ratings, it still average more key viewers than the previous year's lineup:

"Nearly 7.9 million viewers overall tuned in to see the season closer for the series

"Among key 18- to 49-year-olds, for whom advertisers pay a premium, the episode scored a rating of 2.0, up 5% from last week.

"Resurrection's first season performed 85% better in 18-49 than ABC's comparable weeks in the Sunday 9 p.m. time slot last season."

Omar Epps, who has been a champion of the show right out of the gate, told Inquirer that the key to his performance as Bellamy was never knowing which way to go morally or ethically until it's time to go there:

"Bellamy exists in a gray area, compared to characters that I played before. I've been on one side of the fence or the other, and he's really in the middle. It's been challenging to find the character.

"With Bellamy, he's kind of like the outsider. I call him the eye of the audience.

"He's the one character that watches it unfold, with them."

Epps wouldn't say exactly what he believes happens when you die, but he told Inquirer that he's convinced that his energy will never fade away:

"I believe the energy never dies. I'm a spiritual person but I believe that energy is forever. How that energy shifts is up to that individual journey. Anything is possible."

Well...not anything.
