After ten years of working with Shonda Rimes' cast and crew on ABC's hit medical melodrama Grey's Anatomy, Sandra Oh doesn't expect saying goodbye to that chapter in her life is going to very quick or easy, that is why she claims she won't be watching the finale when it airs Thursday night. But some suspect that it may have more to do with disgust than closure. 2014 Spoilers: After going on record as begging not to have her character die, the resonant rumor for weeks has been that Christina Yang will be murdered after all. Word has it that an improvised car bomb planted by terrorist extremists will bring Oh's character to her climatic end.
Sandra Oh knew going in to the filming of her final season on the ABC primetime hit Grey's Anatomy that it wasn't going to be easy saying good bye when it was all said and done.
Sandra Oh told TV Guide that as the end drew near, it made her appreciate playing Christina Yang more than she has in years:
"I just feel much more present with it...There are some times where you take it for granted that you're going to have another OR scene, but you never know.
"The days that are just so fun and wonderful...The feeling is sad and happy and everything in between. I can't even put it into words. But mostly it's about being present and enjoying it and being grateful for every moment."
In a candid interview with the Calgary Herald Sandra admitted that she really didn't know whether she would be able to actually watch the finale when it airs or not:
"Maybe I should watch it. I guess...But I feel like I want to say goodbye on my own time that's not on, like, Thursday nights at 9 o'clock, that's not on the schedule.
"So if... it feels right to me, then I'll watch it. And it if doesn't, then I'll watch it in 10 years from now or whenever it feels right."
Hopefully Oh's trepidations don't have anything to do with an untimely demise, as she has made it known that anything would preferable to them clumsily murdering off her plot lines (via TV Guide):
"I hope I don't die...That's all I hope."
Despite her highest hope internet gossip has suggested for weeks that Sandra's Christina is going to be blown up by some sort of urban IED, and the official synopsis seems to imply the exact same thing (via IBTimes):
"In the Season 10 finale, the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital bid an emotional farewell to the beloved Cristina Yang. A possible act of terrorism rocks Seattle and causes chaos at the hospital."
