American Music Awards 2012 Winners: Justin Bieber has Big Hit, PSY Gangnam Style A Hit (LIST OF WINNERS)

Canadian recording artist Justin Bieber had a massive night at the 2012 American Music Awards where took home multiple titles on Sunday.

Bieber, when accepting the award for "favorite artist of the year," dragged his mom on stage where he thanked her for support over the years.

"This is my mom," he said. "She's little, but she's beautiful." 

Bieber won "favorite Pop/rock male artist fired a shot at his detractors.

"I want to say this is for all the haters who thought that I was just here for one or two years. I feel like I'm going to be here for a very long time."

The 18-year-old, on his third trip to the podium, scooped up the "favorite pop/rock album," for his "Believe," compilation. On receiving that award, he thanked his mentor Usher as well as a number of his influences. Nicki Minaj also took home multiple crowns as she was named "favorite rap/hip hop artist," to go along with the award she got for having "favorite rap/hip hop album," for her "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded."

Also a winner on the night was R&B artist Rihanna when she was awarded the title of "favorite soul/R&B album," for her "Talk That Talk," but wasn't in attendance as she is currently on tour.

Taylor Swift won "favorite country female artist," for the fifth time.

"This is unreal. I want to thank the fans. You guys are the ones who voted on this," she said.  

Other awards went to Carly Rae Jepsen for "new artist of the year award."

"Best alt rock artist," went to veteran band Linkin Park while "best male country artist," was awarded to Luke Bryan while Usher nabbed "best male soul/R&B artist," honor.

The trio of Katy Perry, Shakira and Beyonce were not in attendance to receive their awards. Perry was named "favorite female pop artist." Shakira was named "favorite Latin artist" and Beyonce received the nod for "favorite soul artist."

Viewers of the show  were also treated to a performance by a South Korean pop star PSY the singer of the hit Internet song "Gangnam Style" and MC Hammer PSY and MC Hammer sporting iconic hammer pants.
