History Channel ‘Vikings’ Season 3 Spoilers: Ben Robson Joins Cast; Travis Fimmel Burns Paris? [UPDATE] [TRAILER]

History Channel's Game of Thrones like Vikings TV show is too good not to be renewed for at least another season, and according to showrunner Micheal Hirst Season 3 is going to be even more impressive than the last- -which is really saying something when you consider the "Blood Eagle" episode. According to Alyssa Sutherland's Twitter, British actor Ben Robson ,best known for his role in the film Dracula: The Dark Prince, is joining the cast as Katheryn Winnick's right hand man. Which is a good thing for Travis Fimmel's character because according to Hirst's spoilers, Ragnar Lothbrock is going to need all the help he can get if he and the rest of his Norse raiders are going to burn Paris like they plan.

If things go as planned History Channel's Norse tour de force Vikings Season 3 should be more mind blowing than last year's--even with all its Don Corleone like twists and turns.

Tutors co-creator and Viking showrunner Michael Hirst explained in an in-depth interview with Time that next year he knows he had to pull out all the stops:

"I think we have to up the game again, and Season 3 will certainly feature a very famous event which was their first Viking attack on Paris that Ragnar led. It's the most extraordinary episode.

"We've got over 100 ships in Season 3...they attack what they think is Rome. They go to Spain. They do extraordinary things."

And apparently Ragnar and Lagertha are going to be adding on more than just  peripheral smash-and-grab oarsmen to the crew if they're going to get the big jobs done.

That or the need to hire a few more key characters for Travis Fimmel to brutally murder before the finale, but either way Dracula: The Dark Prince Brit, Ben Robson is in.

According to Deadline Ragnar's old old lady just isn't going to be able to control her little fiefdom of Amazonians without him:

"Robson...will play Kalf, the trusted second-in-command to Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick)."

And if their reactions on Twitter are any indication, the loveliest ladies of the show Katheryn Winnick and Alyssa Sutherland seem to more than happy to have him.

Yeah, whatever...Ragnar's probably just going to pull his lungs out anyways.
