Chris Brown Cancels Tour To Guyana Due To Possible Backlash To Rihanna Beating

R&B singer Chris Brown has decided to cancel an event in the South American nation of Guyana due to possible backlash from his assault on Barbadian singer Rihanna this according to ABC News.

According to the news outlet Brown had been scheduled to headline the "Unforgettable II," show on Dec. 26 but Hits and Jams Entertainment Group decided it was best if the Virginia superstar didn't attend the concert.

Lawmakers and concerned women's groups in the capital of Guyana, Georgetown didn't want the star to perform there with possible protest on the cards if he were to land in the territory.

Brown's representative told E! online on Thursday. "This concert was never confirmed. The promoter is being untruthful."

The statement via Hits and Jams website on Wednesday read.

"The management team in a correspondence to HJ Entertainment said they do not feel comfortable at this stage allowing the multi-award winning singer to come to Guyana as they have been following reports in the local and international press about the protests over his Guyana appearance."

This isn't the only international incident that involved Brown, earlier this month, protesters in Stockholm, Sweden plastered the police photo of Rihanna's beaten face on posters promoting Brown's concert there.

In 2009 Brown assaulted Robyn "Rihanna" Fenty. Brown admitted that he hit and choked Rihanna during an argument in Los Angeles the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards. He later pleaded guilty to assault.

Brown has been working to repair his image, undergoing violence counseling and putting out a new album. He has a duet with Rihanna on her recently released record.
