New Orleans rapper sensation Lil Wayne looks to be calling it quits on his career after decades of being on the music scene.
Lil Wayne hinted on Friday that he is nearing retirement and says that his "Carter V," will most likely be his last according to MTV.
"I know y'all want me around for a little bit, and Carter V is my last album," Lil Wayne said. "Man, I've been rappin' since I was 8 years old. I'm 30 now, man. That's a long time."
The rapper said he will release his "I Am Not A Human Being II," in February and told MTV that he will release a few more titles before he ends his career and said before he retires he wants to at the top of the game.
"I signed my contract at 11, I went platinum at 14 ... Thank God I haven't put out an album that hasn't went platinum," he said. "To just keep it going like that, I think not only am I being greedy, I'm fooling myself to think that it will continue to be that great."
Lil Wayne broke Billboard record charts dethroning Elvis Presley with most appearances. Lil Wayne has made a staggering 109 appearances on the fabled Hot 100 chart to climb the summit. The Louisiana native achieved this feat by popping up on the charts with the Game's song, "Celebration."
In contrast Lil Wayne suffered a health scare when he was hospitalized earlier in the year in Texas for suspected seizures he experienced while aboard a private jet.
When asked about what were his plans after rap he told MTV. "My day job will probably be sports analyst, and I'll skate all night instead of being in the studio all night."
