Canada's unofficial cultural ambassador to Japan and Hello Kitty music video racist Avril Lavigne has done nothing to dismiss rumors that she and her Nickel back husband Chad Kroeger are getting a divorce, despite being married less than a year. To the contrary, "Sk8er Boi" singer is the very one who put the gossip about the split in motion by reportedly appearing all over Los Angeles without her wedding engagement rings anywhere in sight. Avril doesn't mind talking about ex-boyfriend Deryck Whibley following his sobering alcohol death scare. Lavigne admits that she still loves the Sum 41 lush, sounds like this love triangle is going to get fairly complicated.
Rumor has it that Canadian pop stars Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger are looking into getting a divorce, after less than 12-months of marriage, but what do you expect from someone who is known to have issues with getting close to people-- literally.
It was reported by Gamker earlier this week that fans at an Avril Lavigne meet and greet in Brazil were seemingly forbidden to put their arm around or otherwise touch the singer, despite their having paid $400 for the opportunity--as evidenced by the picture from the event.
The post-punk singer told Toronto Kiss 92.5 that things weren't always like; it's just that sometime the fans don't deserve to be allowed to touch her (via Music Times):
"I do touch my fans...[But] sometimes other people ruin it for other people.
"If there's been a certain circumstance prior to a meet and greet, someone sneaking into a hotel or doing some shady stuff, they have to take extra precautions when people sneak backstage and stuff."
"I love Deryck very much. He's family to me so it was really lovely to see him...He's a good guy and I want him to be happy and healthy."
Trying to decide whether it is better to be married to Chad Kroeger or Deryck Whibley is kind of like trying to decide which brand or arch welder you want to brush your teeth with in the morning.
