Steven Tyler Apologizes To Nicki Minaj For 'Cornfield' Comments

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has apologized to rapper and American Idol judge Nicki Minaj for offensive comments he made earlier in the according to MTV.com.

Tyler aimed comments at the New York rapper saying. "If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying."  

Minaj on hearing the comments deemed them as racist but the Aerosmith man insists that he isn't one and that Nicki Minaj took it the wrong way.

 "I apologize if it was taken wrong, Nicki," Tyler told Canadian entertainment show eTalk on Tuesday. "But I am the farthest thing from [being a racist] ... I am the last thing on this planet as far as being a racist. I don't know where she got that out of me saying I'm not sure how she would have judged Bob Dylan. Maybe I spoke out of turn. But a racist I'm not, Nicki," said Tyler.

After the "Cornfield," comments were made by Tyler the female artist took to Twitter to voice her opinion on the matter and told her fans to make him a shirt that says "No Coloreds Allowed."

Tyler insisted that if "Bob Dylan came on the show, he would have been thrown off."

Tyler has been vocal on the current "Idol," judges saying "They need a manager to say 'Shut the f--- up and just give [auditioners] your opinion."
