CM Punk returned this week- to the TV screen. The still-apparently-retired WWE Superstar finally took the opportunity to break the silence of the last month or two. While he didn't comment about his situation he did divulge some tidbits about the business on Marc Maron's show which aired Thursday on IFC. Also the hot rumor is that Punk's wife AJ Lee is pregnant. The totally unconfirmed rumor has people wondering if her absence from the WWE scene is in order to hide her baby bump.
The recently reclusive CM Punk, real name Phil Brooks, is on an extended hiatus from WWE. He has been largely silent since he is still technically under contract with the sports entertainment giant, leading many to assume that he has retired. This makes for any Punk sighting to be newsworthy. On Thursday Brooks/Punk dropped by Marc Maron's talk show/podcast and talked/shared about the similarities between stand-up comedy and wrestling (via Zap2It):
"While it's not necessarily WWE talk, it's the first time Punk has had anything to say about professional wrestling since he decided to walk away. During his time off, Punk has been plenty busy. He's become a regular fixture at games for Chicago sports teams, including making a wager with the LA Kings' mascot during the NHL playoffs. He also reportedly married his girlfriend, former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee."
Congratulations may soon be in order for Brooks and his new wife AJ Lee. Does this mean their quick, private nuptial was a shotgun wedding? (via Cage Side Seats):
"... Apparently AJ Lee may be pregnant and that's why plans haven't been made for her to return to WWE television. She married CM Punk on June 13 and is all moved in with him in Chicago, but now word making the rounds is they are settling down to have a family."
