The Grammys have named their nominees for "Musical Album" and they include some top Broadway acts.
Playbill.com says the awards have named "Nice Work," "Once," "Follies," "Newsies" and "Porgy and Bess," as acts that can take home a Grammy. The announcement for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards nominees was made on Wednesday by The Recording Academy.

"Porgy and Bess," the highly popular musical got the nod for nomination due to the music by George Gershwin. DuBose Heyward, Dorothy Heyward with Ira Gershwin providing the lyrics. The producer for the piece was Tommy Krasker and principal soloists were David Alan Grier, Norm Lewis and Audra McDonald.
"Follies," was nominated due to the efforts of composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim. Philip Chaffin and Tommy Krasker produced the performance and Danny Burstein, Jan Maxwell, Elaine Paige, Bernadette Peters & Ron Raines were the principal soloists.
"Once," was inspired by an indie film of the same name and won a Tony Award as Best Musical in 2012. The principal soloists for the piece were Steve Kazee and Cristin Milioti and the composers/lyricists wereGlen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. Steven Epstein and Martin Lowe were the producers.
"Newsies," was composed by Alan Menken and the lyrics were done by Jack Feldman. The principal soloists were Jeremy Jordan & Kara Lindsay. The producers consisted of the team of Frank Filipetti, Michael Kosarin, Alan Menken and Chris Montan.
The final work to be nominated was "Nice Work If You Can Get It" and was composed by George Gershwin and the lyrics done by Ira Gershwin. The producers were David Chase, Bill Elliot and Robert Sher while the principal soloists were Matthew Broderick and Kelli O'Hara.
Patrons can still see "Nice," "Newsies" and "Once" on Broadway while the other two shows have wrapped up performances. The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will be presented Feb. 10 in a televised ceremony.
