Rick Ross Cancels Remainder Of His MMG Tour Due To Promoter Problems & Gang Threats

Popular rapper Rick Ross cancelled the remainder of his MMG tour because of promoter issues and reports of gang threats.

MTV broke the news that the Florida-based rapper and his team at Maybach Music Group will abandon the rest of their MMG tour because of safety concerns.

Ross' tour was scheduled to run until Dec. 16 where he would have been performed in New York but the cancellation of the tour sees the rapper ditching events in the aforementioned city as well in Nashville, Memphis, Houston, Detroit with the North Carolina show already cancelled.

"I want to apologize to all of my fans who I missed performing for due to the cancellations and want to let them know that I will get back to their cities," Rick Ross told AllHipHop.com on Friday. "I enjoyed my experience with my little bros Wale and Meek Mill and I'm ready to get back in the studio to make good music."

A rep for the rapper told MTV that the tour has been a success, but cancellation of the latter half was due to "apparent lack of organization and communication on the part of the tour promoter."

The North Carolina concert was reportedly cancelled due to threats from a gang called the Gangster Disciples. The unit took issue with the artist after the rapper said the group's chairman Larry Hoover name on the chorus of his single B.M.F and the street gang took to YouTube to air their disapproval.

According to reports, Ross has never addressed the issue but said via Twitter on Friday that he blamed the tour's promoters for the cancellation.

"North Carolina I wuz so excited to perform tomorro wit #MMG Promoters cancelled show but I'll be Back ASAP. #luv" he wrote.

Ross was on tour with members of his MMG crew that included Wale and Meek Mill.
