The constant rumors about Ellen DeGeneres failing marriage to Portia de Rossi have become as common place as the talk show host's program. According to the latest tabloid gossip news, things have come to a head after a verbally abusive personal attack in the middle of one of Portia drunken tirades literally frightened DeGeneres. Word has it that Ellen can't take the alcohol fueled rages any longer and has demanded that her wife go to rehab, or she is going to split.
Day time talks show host Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia have been rumored to have had their fair share of marital spats in the past, but the latest blowup are reportedly blow-outs (via July 14 In Touch):
"Ellen is domineering and Portia is passive.
"Ellen always calls the shots, and Portia never complains...[Portia] felt like a prisoner in her own home.
"She went from sipping white wine occasionally to drinking at least a bottle or more a day and topping it off with a pill...It got to the point where she was out of it four nights a week.
"They've had vicious shouting matches--with both of them yelling cruel, soul-crushing put-downs hat they both deeply regret later on."
According to the source who spoke with in Touch their last argument was a little bit more than Ellen could even handle.
"They got into an ugly fight.
"Portia...was drinking and isolating [herself], and Ellen confronted her.
"She blew up at Ellen...Portia lost it and blamed Ellen for driving her to drink because of her controlling ways and said she wasn't in love with her anymore.
"It scared Ellen to death because she had never seen that side of her before...Ellen was crushed and screamed at Portia to get out."
According to In Touch's informant, a few days later Portia had to agree to go to rehab to save her marriage to her meal ticket:
"Portia entered Passages Malibu rehab facility in early May for a 30-day treatment for drugs and alcohol.
"Ellen visited her every weekend to support her while she was there.
"They were both in therapy, but that wasn't enough...They even contacted lawyers about splitting."
Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope Portia can sober up enough to stay with Ellen--but not so much she can't stay with Ellen.
