Italian superstar Andrea Bocelli revealed he will be releasing his new album "Passione," on Jan. 29 and will feature some notable duets with contemporary artists.
Bocelli will team up with artists Nelly Furtado and Jennifer Lopez on the album. The tenor is coming off very successful performances in North America most notably his concert at newly opened Barclays Center in Brooklyn in December.
This new album will see the Italian team up with multiple Grammy-winning producer David Foster. The new album in a show of versatility will have songs sung in six different languages Italian, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Neapolitan.
"Andrea continues to be my favorite singer of all time," Foster said. "I pride myself on working with great voices, but he transcends that. He's a singer for all people, from the common man to the Pope."
Joining Foster and Bocelli in the creative department besides Furtado and Lopez, Bocelli has also recruited Peruvian guitarist Ramon Stagnaro.
In a statement about the upcoming album Bocelli's website wrote.
"Passione" is in essence the second volume of "Amore," with a "fil rouge" which ideally connects the albums. As with "Amore," which featured timeless masterworks, "Passione" includes several beloved classics such as "Love Me Tender," "Girl From Ipanema," and "Sarà Settembre," (better known to English-speaking audiences as Neil Diamond's "September Morn"). Jennifer Lopez is featured on the soft and sensual track "Quizás Quizás Quizás" and Nelly Furtado joins Bocelli on "Corcovado." The album also features a duet with the late French chanteuse Edith Piaf on the song "La Vie En Rose."
Bocelli was honored earlier in the year when he was at the Classic Brit Awards. The tenor picked up the International Artist of the year award due to him becoming the biggest selling solo artist in classical music having sold 75 million records.
