SPOILER ALERT: Alright TV fans. Tonight HBO’s True Blood has some real competion on its hands. No we are not talking about ABC’s Rising Star, that would be ridiculous. We are talking about the Season 2 premiere of the highly acclaimed Showtime original series Ray Donovan. Check out the trailer video for the new season below. The family/crime drama stars Wolverine Origins Sabretooth actor Liev Schreiber. Recently Schreiber opened up about his role on the hit series.
The official plot synopsis for the season premiere episode, titled "Yo Soy Capitan," reads:
“An FBI agent learns Ray and Mickey took part in killing Sully Sullivan and demands that Ray bring in his father as series 2 begins. However, Mickey is in Mexico setting up a fight and isn't eager to leave. Meanwhile, Ray rescues a client from a violent confrontation; Terry obsesses over his ex-girlfriend; and Conor assaults a classmate.”
Ole Sabertooth himself, Liev Schreiber recently spoke to Hollywood Life about playing Ray:
“It’s hard. He’s a dark character, and I’ve never been someone who got lost in his character. I never characterized myself in that way. But there’s something unavoidable about going through that every day, 14 hours a day, and I’m just grateful that I have my family to go home to. And kids sort of brighten things up.”
It was the stability of TV that lead Schreiber to take the role, as he added:
"I think one of the things that appealed to me about doing television is that you’re in the same place for a longer period of time, and so your children can be consistent with a curriculum and be consistent in their social groups…I think that’s important for kids as they grow up.”
The all new season of Ray Donovan premieres tonight at 9:00 p.m. Eastern on Showtime.
