Golden Corral Food Poisoning: 167 People Get Sick

Buffet style eatery Golden Corral is taking a lot of flak for reported cases of food poisoning at one of its restaurants this according to Yahoo.

A Golden Corral in Casper, Wyoming caused 167 people to contract food poisoning. According to K2 radio station, the buffet is shutting down for 24 hours to sanitize the restaurant after the health department reported record occurrences of food poisoning.

Naturally visitors to the dining institution didn't take being poisoned too well and many took to popular website Yelp according to Yahoo to voice their displeasure.

One diner wrote. "The floors were so dirty," one reviewer griped, while another complained of the "raw, undercooked meatloaf and chicken."

One diner posted a long winded comment on Yelp on how terrible the food was at the restaurant going as far as saying it was among the worse food on the planet.

"This was the worst experience I've had in Casper. The Bourbon Chicken gave me traveler's dysentery, and I willingly eat street vendor food in Peru, Mexico and Nicaragua and have never gotten this sick. The point is, I know world class bad food and this is in the top two or three in the world!

The steaks looked OK, but I never got there.

The Chinese was aged, the Italian looked Chef Boyardee-like, and getting ill on the first dish was my only saving grace.

I can't imagine the crew training they get there....maybe it was everyone's first night. So say grace and ask forgiveness before you go..."

According to Yahoo the restaurant is set to re-open in the near future after a cleanup.

In 2003, an outbreak of salmonella was linked to a Golden Corral restaurant in Kennesaw, Georgia. Twenty-three people were affected by the outbreak. The salmonella bacterium was found in a floor drain, leading health inspectors to believe that it had been washed off of equipment earlier. No original source was found.
