Father of the Sandy Hook gunman Adam Lanza broke his silence about the ordeal that saw his son kill 26 people at an elementary school late last week.
Huffington Post reported Peter Lanza father of Adam Lanza addressed the families and love ones of the victims that died at the hands of his son and on a statement made on Saturday said
"Our hearts go out to the families and friends who lost loved ones and to all those who were injured. Our family is grieving along with all those who have been affected by this enormous tragedy. No words can truly express how heartbroken we are. We are in a state of disbelief and trying to find whatever answers we can. We too are asking why. We have cooperated fully with law enforcement and will continue to do so. Like so many of you, we are saddened, but struggling to make sense of what has transpired."
Adam Lanza has been identified as the shooter at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut on Friday. According to news outlets, Lanza killed at least 26 people with most of the victims being children.
Lanza was the son of teacher Nancy Lanza a teacher at the school. According to the New York Times, Lanza shot 20 students, most in the same classroom. He also shota number adults, and then killed himself inside the school. It was also reported that Lanza killed his mother. The victims range from ages five to 10 years old.
Some of the children slain on Friday were laid to rest on Monday.
