Stefon Harris & Sonic Creed Bring the Jazz: Miller Theatre Columbia University School of Arts
Saturday January 30th, 8 PM, Miller Theatre, the Columbia University School of Arts is the place to be. Vibraphonist and composer Stefon Harris takes the stage with his new band Sonic Creed. I don't feel the need to talk this cat Stefon Harris up. You should be in the know already. He is where it is happening. My man has armed himself with a new band. The Music Gods annointed them with the name Sonic Creed and them mothers and Mr. Harris plan to lay a whole bunch of funk, postbop, R & B tinged jazz on you. That is if you are at the Miller Theatre at Colubia University School of Arts at 8 in the PM, dig? HBO John Oliver Endorses Dr. Oz Columbia University Termination [TV SHOW NEWS]
Since making his way over to HBO from Jon Stewart's 'Daily Show,' British comedian, John Oliver, has been relentless in his takedowns of political figures and manipulators, but last week the 38-year-old decided it was time, oce again, to take a swing at one of Oprah's scared cows, Dr. Mehmet Oz. According to the latest gossip news updates, several of the talk show host' peers are demanding he resign from his post at Columbia University, but the 'Last Week Tonight' host would rather the 54-year-old cardiothoracic surgeon quit peddling "horsesh*t dressed up as medicine" on his day time TV show all together. Interestingly, more than a 1000 doctors the world over have made it clear at this point that they also feel Oz' presence on the medical board of such a prestigious Ivy League university is wholly inappropriate.
