'Hello Dolly' is coming back to Broadway and I think we can all agree that we want to see her never go away again. Bette Midler will be stepping into the shoes of the famous matchmaker originated by the incomparable Carol Channing in the Original Broadway 1964 run. Directed by Tony winner Jerry Zaks, Dolly will return to the Great White Way in the spring of 2017. -
'Rumors Fly Around 'SpongeBob SquarePants' Broadway Musical Announced by Nickelodeon
Everyone’s favorite sponge may be heading to the Great White Way. Nickelodeon has confirmed to 'Entertainment Weekly' that a 'SpongeBob SquarePants' musical is currently in the works. Though the show location has not been announced, it is rumored that Nickelodeon is hoping for a Broadway run. The show is said to feature a mixture of classical and contemporary music, with music from Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Lady Antebellum and John Legend for the score. The production is set to be directed by Tina Landau, who is currently directing the off-broadway show 'Big Love.'
