New World Symphony will debut new works by three contemporary artists next month in their aptly titled special event, 'New Work.' Included are world premieres from Michael Tilson Thomas, Timo Andres, Lauren Yee and Amy Beth Kirsten.
The New York Philharmonic premieres tonight, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m., performing Mahler's Symphony No. 6, with Semyon Bychkov conducting.

Kent Tritle, director of Cathedral Music, will lead work which, since its premiere in 1910 when a 1030 musicians first performed it together, has the nickname "The Symphony of a Thousand."
