According to the Institute's Director, Kevin Puts, emerging talents run into the catch-22 of not getting a chance to write for an orchestra until they have already proven themselves capable of doing so, but now at least 7 out of 150 applicants will be able to potentially launch their careers thanks to Minnesota Orchestra's Composer Institute. For New York fans of the orchestra, Music Director Osmo Vänskä will be leading the group in all-Sibelius program at Carnegie Hall -- their first concert there in five-years.
