The Black Keys have been littered all over the interwebs for apperances in Dave Grohl's 'Sonic Highway' series, their 2014 Nonesuch Records release True Blue and their stint in Rolling Stones' 'Mastering The Craft' series.
Steve Reich’s “Four Organs” was performed Tuesday at the Brooklyn Academy of Music with Philip Glass, Nico Muhly, David Cossin, Timo Andres and Steve Reich. The performance was the first of three by Reich and Glass as part of the 50th anniversary of the Nonesuch record label.
As part of the 2014 Next Wave Festival (and the program by Nonesuch Records) at BAM, Alarm Will Sound is set for two nights of performances coming this September. Conducted by Alan Pierson, the Alarm Will Sound performances are slated for September 12 with music by John Adams and September 13 with music by Tyondai Braxton, Steve Reich, and Donnacha Dennehy.
Nico Muhlys’ internet opera, Two Boys, will be released on Nonesuch Records on September 30, 2014. Two Boys was recorded live (and streamed) at the Metropolitan Opera in 2013, with production by conductor David Robertson and director Bartlett Sher. The two-act opera also features a libretto by playwright Craig Lucas and vocals by Alice Coote and Paul Appleby.
